Lola grabbed her suitcase as she pulled the front door shut and locked it tight behind her.
No more.
This was the last damn time she would let anyone dictate her life to her, and she was so out of here. Just wait till he came home tonight, and realized she was gone. He’d freak, and she’d be laughing, just waiting for the million text messages to pop up on her cell phone. delete. delete. delete. Getting some of her own back was going to feel so good.
Years of listening to, and following her parents orders, had led straight to falling in with Louis.
Louis. Chosen by her parents, of course, as a perfect caretaker/fiance’ for her, Lola had never had a chance. She’d grown up being trained that it was better for her to “behave and do what you’re told”.
To hell with it. It was time to get a life.
Her life.
What kind of life that would be – who knew?
She was headed west. And that was all she had planned.
A little money she’d earned and squirreled away in a secret bank account. She had that, and the few things she’d decided to take with her.
Off she goes, into the wild blue…. out yonder.

Whooo! I can’t wait to see where “out yonder” takes her!
